fLUMENS

In the Golden Age the Oosterdok was home to the world’s most modern sailing vessels owned by the Dutch East Indies Company. Local ship builders allowed the Dutch to bring the world’s most precious goods to Amsterdam, by making use of the free wind. Amsterdam exists thanks to this mastership of the wind. fLUMENS are an experiment by Digiluce and OPENLIGHT to make light from the wind

fLUMENS visualise the wind. fLUMENS allow us to play with it. Make a shadow, for instance, by taking the wind out of the sails. Experience the invisible power that surrounds us. Aren’t we in need for this power again? fLUMENS are completely powered by the wind and emit light from wind force 3 Beaufort.
